Geraniums by Sheri Jones

Geraniums by Sheri Jones
7 x 5 oil on canvas panel I painted this from a set up in my studio. The geraniums were purchased for the garden, but offered to model for this small painting. They made their way to the garden just in time for this great spring weather.

Waterfall by Sheri Jones

Waterfall by Sheri Jones
10 x 10 oil on canvasI painted this at Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, Texas. This is a beautiful garden area now owned by the city. The original owner, Douglas Chandor created the gardens over 70 years ago. He was a renowned portrait artist, but his true love was the garden. The city is doing a beautiful job of maininting and preserving this little bit of heaven. I look forward to returning soon.

Bluebonnets and Wild Grasses by Sheri Jones

9 x 12 oil on canvas This was painted today from the banks of the Brazos River in Granbury. I really ramped up the color with this one and I love it. The winds were very gusty and knocked over my Easy L pallet, brushes, painting and all went splat. This painting comes with more sand texture that originally intended.

Wild Delpheniums by Sheri Jones

11 x 14 oil on canvasThis painting was inspired from photos I took while visiting the Jackson Hole area last year. It was summer time and the wildflowers were in full bloom. I was impressed with the grandeur of the Grand Tetons and surrounding area. The flowers were an added treat for the eyes. This is painted with a pallet knife and lots of paint.

River Dance by Sheri Jones

24 x 30 on gallery wrapped canvas I enlarged this from a field study. It is a great thing to do on a cold rainy afternoon. If I can't get outside and paint this is the next best thing. I was reminded of the great time I had hanging with my painting buddies when I created the study.

Getting outside painting in the warmer weather is so refreshing. Spring is upon us with Winter approaching. Spring starts tomorrow and they are calling for snow in North Texas. Go figure, just when I'm geared up for the great outdoors.
This was painted with lots of paint applied with a pallet knife.

Water Garden Star by Sheri Jones

Water Garden Star by Sheri Jones
11 x 14 oil on canvas panel This painting was inspired from a painting trip to the Wildflower Seed Farm. I created this from a smaller version. The flowers were beautiful, but I really enjoyed painting the abstract design of the water lily pads and water.
