Shades of Crimson by Sheri Jones

Shades of Crimson by Sheri Jones
8 x 10 oil on canvas
I painted this in the garden of a home in Waxahachie with a group from the Outdoor Painter's Society. The irises were the star of the garden.
The Outdoor Painter's society is coming to my hometown May 14th and 15th. We will be painting in the streets of downtown Granbury and surrounding countryside. There are plenty of painting opportunities for the plein air artist. Granbury is a growing community, but still has the old town charm. It should be a great time.

Sunrise in Bosque County by Sheri Jones
8 x 10 oil on canvasA group of us were meeting to paint together at a ranch in Glen Rose. Two of us decided it was a great opportunity to get up early and paint a sunrise from one of our favorite locations right down the road. So we got on site painted a quickie and met up with the rest of the group by 8:30.

Flower Shop by Sheri Jones

Flower Shop by Sheri Jones
12 x 12 oil on canvasI painted this during the Paint the Town in Marble Falls, Texas. I am always looking for color and this about knocked me over with color. It was a cloudy, rainy, sunny day making it a challenge to paint. Somehow none of that mattered as long as I was swinging my palette knife and paint brush.

April Morning by Sheri Jones

April Morning by Sheri Jones
11 x 14 oil on canvasI had the pleasure of visiting Rough Creek Lodge today. I was inspired by this almost hidden bluebonnet patch. There are miles and miles of bluebonnets and wildflowers all along Hwy 67 thru Glenrose, but when you get on the back roads they are sparse. Painting outside and on location is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.
