Stargazer Lily by Sheri Jones

Stargazer Lily by Sheri Jones
14 x 11 oil on Raymar canvas panel
The highlight of my Friday was going to the grocery store to buy flowers for the weekend. They were fully stocked and had a wide variety to choose from. I was excited to get started with this one. The background started out as a deep red and it wasn't working. I changed it to green and that really made the lilies pop. I painted this with a lot of thick paint letting the layer of red show thru. This painting is available for purchase. $150.00

I like your use of complementary colors. The red and pinks with the green background create a very nice effect. I especially like how you painted the container. Sometime I'm going to have to get bold enough to try painting silver or copper.

Very nice painting. I like how the one lilly is in the light and the other stays in the backgroung. Love the naples yellow foreground.
