I painted this today at Pecan Plantation in Granbury.  My friend Joyce Thomas lives in this rural neighborhood.  The Brazo river winds through the area and this was at one of the parks on the banks of the river.  We enjoyed an afternoon with temperatures in the mid sixties.

My co-worker, Dee brought this beautiful bouquet into work after her daughter's wedding.  I  set them in front of the window to take pictures.  The strong sunlight cast a nice shadow.  She was excited to hear I wanted to paint them and was interested in buying it.  This is going provide a nice memory for her and her daughter.  This painting is sold.

I met my friends Joyce Thomas and Doug Clark today in Benbrook to paint.  This is from a small valley behind the dam at Benbrook Lake. There is a small meandering stream that flows in the area. It provided a nice back ground sound for us.  Today turned into a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid sixties. We were by the bike trail and the beautiful day brought a lot of bikers out. We received a lot of thumbs up! This is available for purchase $250.

This was the second painting I did on Saturday at El Tesoro in Granbury. I started this one portrait style and changed my mind. I rubbed the paint out and turned it sideways. This created a nice reflective look to the water.   Claudia Davis was standing nearby and pointed it out to me.  This is another good reason to get out and paint with other artist.  They are always so helpful and inspiring to be with.  My greatest challenge was leaving it alone and not over work it.   This is available for purchase. $200.00

I painted this today at El Tesoro Camp in Granbury, Texas. I met 9 other artist there to paint. This is a camp for children and we were fortunate to get special permission to paint there. This was set up a month ago by Claudia Davis  and Maryann Brummer  when the weather was unseasonably warm. Today we had winter weather with temperatures only reaching  41 for the high.  I dressed like I was going snow skiing and did fine. We were low on the river protected from the wind. It turned into a great day for those willing to brave the cool weather.  This is available for purchase $250.00

I painted this last night in Benbrook, Texas. I was going to a party and time to kill. It rained all day and I didn't think it was going to happen. It cleared up at the end of the day and was still warm out. It ended up being a perfect opportunity to paint outside.

This is another study I did from my field trip to the Ft. Worth Botanical gardens. I love the variety of flowers they plant and maintain.  I am motivated to paint spring time subject, because our weather has been spring like. I painted it with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint.
