I created this in my garden surrounded by a blooming spots of color.  It is included in

an art show with the Lake Granbury Art Association during the Wine Walk on the town square.  This is a festive event with a lot of happy people. The event started yesterday and will continue through the weekend. There are more wonderful pieces of art on display in the Plaza right off the square.  Go check it out.

River Reflections

A Path to the River

When I prepared for my demo at Pecan Plantation Art Guild I went out to the location and did several small studies.  I wanted options on what I painted for the group.  This is the first I considered.   Here you can see the photo and small study I worked from.  I loved that the blue bonnets were blooming and scattered about the landscape.  I tried to simplify the design, but decided it was too much for a demo.

I love the finished painting.

Finding the Blues

I painted this on the River in Pecan Plantation.  It is a study for a demo I will do with the Pecan Plantation art guild.  We will follow this up with a workshop at the same location. I am excited and look forward to the day. I will post pictures of my demo soon.

These hot pink petunias and golden pansies were a sight I needed to see on canvas. I painted this from my garden and set up in the bright sunlight. The lacy patterns in the shadows were a nice contracts to these screaming light.

From the Garden

Floral Kaleidoscope

Spring has sprung and I am surrounded by bright happy flowers. This is a warm up to what is inspiring me recently. I pre mixed my colors and with the palette knife I dabbled the paint on. I purposely left the first layer of alizarin crimson peeking through.
