I created this at the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens in Ft Worth.  I was thrilled to return here again while the iris garden was in full bloom. I met the volunteers that maintain the gardens.  They were proud of their garden and happy to see me painting the fruits of their labor.  I was so grateful for this  to paint in this wonderful garden.

I painted this from my father-in-law's garden of his beautiful flowers. He had a green thumb and always loved to garden. 

We lost him the very next day, so this painting will always hold a special place in my heart.

I was happy to get out and paint during my lunch break this week.  The Ft Worth Botanical Gardens are close to work and I try to go by often. It's a great place to walk and get some fresh air.  When I saw this garden of color I came back 3 times to paint. It was a refreshing break from my hectic life.
This painting sold during the week I was the featured artist at Dutch Art Gallery.

This is inspired from one of my all time favorite painting locations in Benbrook, Texas.  The rising sun draped the clouds with warm colorful light and begged me to paint it.  I used the brush to lay in the colors and shapes and added texture using the palette knife.

The park near Benbrook lake is my inspiration for this sunrise painting.  I drive through the park on my way to work and if I time it right I see the sun come up.  The golden hour where the sun cast bright colors everywhere. This was a joy to paint using the palette knife and all these warm colors.

I created this at one of my favorite locations in Glen Rose, Texas.  The fields are rich with blue bonnets and other native flowers. This is one of the views of  High Hope Ranch.  This gorgeous piece of property has 3 guest house to rent and 900 acres to explore.  I see new paintings in every direction when I visit here.

This painting was inspired from a photo I took on my way to work. I'm always scouting new painting locations and knew there were bluebonnets blooming on some of the back roads. I arrived at this spot just as the sun was rising.  I love the orange glow of the sun against the blue of the bluebonnets.

This site for this inspiration was a cabin my husband and I stayed in Colorado.  The cabin was surrounded by Aspen Trees and great distant views.  I was in awe of the natural color and opportunity to paint so close to our home base.  I used field studies and a photo to create this large aspen painting. The early morning light on this grove of Aspens glowed.
