Jim

This is a 2 hour painting  I did at our drawing group. We meet up at the Shanley House with Lake Granbury Art Association once a week.  Models normally sit for 20 minute sessions,  10 minute breaks for 3 hours.  This was Jim's first time to model for us. He stated it was very relaxing and a good experience.  We are always looking for volunteers!

Tabor and His Chickens

My sweet friend posted a photo of her baby meeting his new chickens.  With Mama's approval I attempted to paint it. I have saved it for a while and it was finally time to see it come to life. It fits in with my goal to paint more portraits.

I am so blessed with many great nieces and nephews. They make great models for my recent series.  I set a goal at the beginning of the year to paint more portraits. I thought I would start with photos I've taken over the years of the kids in my family. This is sweet Averi looking cool with these her groovy glasses.

Hidden in the Hollyhocks

This was inspired from a trip to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. I created it with a palette knife applying the paint in small squares.  I focused on softer edges and colors.

Terry's Paluxy River

We gathered to paint the river on a gorgeous winter morning. 

The Paluxy river runs thru this area and my friend Terry has property with it flowing through. We painted in the morning and toured the property the rest of the afternoon.  This is from a newly developed walking path that leads to the family's swimming hole. I know I want to return and paint here soon!
