Soft Morning Light by Sheri Jones

Soft Morning Light by Sheri Jones

36x24 oil on canvas

I painted a smaller version of this working from a photo. It is always helpful to work out the kinks in a smaller format before going large.  I dropped the horizon line with this one and do like it more. I was thrilled when I drove up on this scene and glad I had my camera.  The color was amazing. This painting is available for purchase. $450.00

Morning Sunshine by Sheri Jones

Morning Sunshine by Sheri Jones

14x11 oil on canvas

This painting was inspired from a photo I took on my way to work. I'm always scouting new painting locations and knew there were bluebonnets blooming on some of the back roads. I arrived at this spot just as the sun was rising.  I love the orange glow of the sun against the blue of the bluebonnets.

Bluebonnet Sunrise by Sheri Jones

Bluebonnet Sunrise by Sheri Jones

24x18  Oil on canvas

This was inspired from a photo I took in Willow City loop. We found fields and fields of wildflowers there.  The bluebonnets were at their peak and very lush.  We didn't get the rain we needed and this year the crop was thin.  I am happy I have such great reference material to work from.    This is available for purchase thru Dutch Art Gallery, Dallas, TX

Lane's Garden by Sheri Jones

Lane's Garden by Sheri Jones

16x20 oil on canvas

I painted this today during The Hood and Somervell County Garden Art Show in Granbury at the Plaza.  We have had a lot of traffic for the show. This was also in conjunction with The Wine Walk . This is an event that is a lot of fun.  There were bands, wine sample, food samples, vendors and lots of people.

The Art Show has been a year long effort by artist and photographers.  We painted in local gardens since last April and showcased our results here. I painted a small study from Lane's Garden last year and this painting was created from that.   This painting is available for purchase. $250.00

Prairie Fest Cactus by Sheri Jones

8x10 oil on canvas

I created this during the Prairie Fest in Fort Worth this past Saturday.  The day turned out beautiful, but very windy. I found this cluster of blooming cactus on the street  and out of the wind. I was thrilled to find both! I created this with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint.  This was sold to my good friend Doug. Thank you!

Hawaiian Flowers Study by Sheri Jones

Hawaiian Flower's Study by Sheri Jones

12 x12 oil on canvas

I created this from flowers I received from my sister. She was in Hawaii visiting her husband's family and sent them to me.  This was the second painting I did from the flowers. Each flower had it's own unique shape and color I wanted to do each one seperately, but together.
