I was inspired by the fall colors against the sky blue water in this small stream. This is below the dam on Benbrook Lake in Benbrook, Texas. I drive through this area daily and love to check out the ever changing colors of this area.   It was created with a palette knife and lots of color paint.

This was painted as a Christmas Card and mailed out. I love to switch mediums and surfaces for new inspiration and challenges. I have been painting cards for my friends and loved ones for the last few weeks and not worked on very many large works on canvas. This was inspired after painting at  the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. I painted a quick study on site, capturing the colors of the blooming hollyhocks. I used the small study and photos to create this still life.  It was painted with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint.
