Mountain Moran

I painted this on location during my summer vacation in the Jackson Hole area in Wyoming. The Grand Tetons are a beautiful site. We set up at this spot and apparently it was exactly where every tourist wanted to be. It was a clear crisp day with temperatures in the 70's.

I painted a small painting similar to this from a set up in my studio. I photographed the set up and painted this picture from that. I turned the canvas upside down and painted one colorspot after the other, not focusing on what I was painting. I also used the pallet knife for most of the process. This was a fun project with a different twist.

I painted this while participating in the Last Friday Gallery Night in Granbury. I painted at the D'Vine Wine on the square. I was also the featured artist that week with a little photo op in the local paper.

I made a new friend when I stopped off at Anna May's place after admiring her beautiful flower garden. She was gracious enough to let a few of us paint in her yard. I photographed these and painted them later in the studio.

I painted this in the back yard of a resident's home in Waxahachie. They were kind enough to open their backyard garden to all us that were bold enough to ask! It was a wonderful place to spend the afternoon.

The Cannas

I painted from the downtown area of Waxahachie during the 10 day paint out. I painted most of this with a pallet knife. I love to pile the paint up and push it around until it takes shape. It feels very scuptural.

Train Depot

This was painted during the Paint Out in Waxahachie, Texas. This train depot was one of the featured building during the Gingerbread Trail tour of homes. This little town has some rich heritage beautiful old homes and worth a visit.
