Big Rock Park by Sheri Jones
10x8 oil on canvas
I painted this today at Big Rock Park in Glen Rose, Texas. The Paluxy river normally runs through this rocky area, but it is dried up. They actually had bulldozers on the river bed and it looked like a road. The early fall colors are a bonus for a plein air painter, but another sign of the drought in Texas. This painting is available for purchase. $100.00

Good strong color and shapes. The texture of leaves, grass, and rocks add pleasing contrast.
Good to see Jill commenting again. Do you think she looked at this painting and thought that we were having great fall weather? haha I really do love your color and composition. I can't wait to see your Demo for the Ellis County Art Association.
