I played hooky Friday and went painting at Benbrook Lake. My painting buddies, Jill and Joyce joined me. We arrived at daybreak and watched the sun warm the landscape. I created this in the studio from a fuzzing photo I took while flying down the highway. For safety reasons I should mention I was a passenger and not driving. The dramatic sky and hint of the cows on the hillside were enough to spark my creative desire.

This was inspired from a garden in Johnson City, Texas. I was in town painting at the Lavendar Farm Paint out.  The zinnias caught my eye and I quickly turned the car around to snap a few pictures. The blue roofs were a bonus and really added to the scene.

This painting was on display  and sold at Archie's Gardenland in Ft Worth.

This was inspired from a plein air outing while in the mountains north of Crested Butte. We visited during the wildflower explosion. This is the wildflower capital of Colorado and I see why. This was created with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint. It is available for purchase. $550.00
