Good Morning Sunflowers, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Good Morning Sunflowers

16x12 oil on canvas

There is a spot on the banks of Benbrook lake that has my heart. In the summer it is filled with wildflowers. It has views in every direction and is a place our group of artist meet to paint. It is the subject of many of my landscapes.

Park Parade of Color

11x14 oil on canvas

I love to stroll thru the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens looking for inspiration. I was intrigued with the bending tree and dappled light on this scene.  Adding bright pops of color for the flowers was the icing on the cake.  This is available for purchase.

Sunflowers Growing Wild, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Sunflowers Growing Wild

9x12 oil on canvas

I created this after painting here on location a number of times.  I love the wild sunflowers growing against all the odds of surviving in the Texas heat.

The grasses were warming showing a hint of fall.

This is available for purchase.

Please email me if you are interested.

Sunny Start, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Sunny Start

18x24 oil on canvas

I was chasing the sun, but distracted by the sunflowers.   This was inspired from fields of sunflowers in the Pecan Valley area of Benbrook.  I always arrive here about the time the sun is rising on my way to work.  I love the area and completed many paintings from here.

This is available for purchase at Your Private Collection Art Gallery.

Gay Feathers in Bloom

9x12 oil on canvas

I was delighted to find the field of wild flowers at High Hope Ranch in Glen Rose.  After touring the ranch, I quickly got to work and painted this colorful landscape.  The temperatures were perfect along with the day.  It is always an adventure when I take the studio outside.  This is available for purchase. Please email me if you are interested.

Blue Bug, New Contemporary Transportation Painting by Sheri Jones

Blue Bug 36x36 oil on canvas

I am a sucker for anything vintage.  This volkswagon was parked outside of my favorite art store.  I saw it often, but it was always parked in the shade. I was pleasantly surprised to see it out in the sun one day.  I painted a smaller version of this a few years ago and knew I wanted to go big.  This is available for purchase.

Sunflowers with a View

24x30 Oil on Canvas

I created this from a small study I painted on location at Lake Benbrook.

The wild sunflowers were a nice contrast with the morning clouds.  It was great to recreate this in the studio. This is available for purchase.
