This is the demo I did today at Dutch Art Gallery. I worked from a photo I took the day before.  Rising early does have it's benefits.  I get to see some of the most beautiful sunrises. I couldn't wait to paint it. It was a fun day being surround by wonderful art and talking art.

I painted this during the Paint the Town in Marble Falls on Friday morning. I was across the street and was doing good until a car parked in the way.  Then storm blew in and I had to shut it down. It was lunch time and turned to be a good time to be inside. The sky's opened up and it poured. It didn't last long and I was back at it in no time. The adventues of painting outside are eventful.

I painted this on location at a sweet spot close to home. I met my friend Jill,  just in time to catch a beautiful sunset.

I am painting this weekend in Marble Falls, Texas. I am participating in the 7th Annual Paint the Town plein air event.  We had a brief shower around lunch time, but otherwise we have had nice weather.
We will turn in our framed paintings tomorrow at 3:00. The reception and silent auction is 5-7 pm.

This was painted on location in an area outside of Glen Rose, Texas. The bluebonnets were at their peak and just beautiful. We arrived early enough to catch the glow of morning light. It days like this that make me love the plein air process and keeps me coming back.  This was painted with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint. The roses are from my garden and a real invitation to paint.  There are pink, lilac and ivory roses all growing together and all in different stages of opening.  I know their season is short and I want to take advantage of these models while I can.  I painted this with a palette knife. My friend Jill Randall  and I took off early one day to paint. I skipped work that day and was thrilled to be free to paint. We found this spot and set up early enough to see the soft morning light.

This was inspired from a drive through the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens recently.  These beautiful plants grace the entrance of the park and are a welcome sight. I've always wanted to paint them and the time was finally right.  It's fun to check in often to see what's blooming. I painted this on Saturday on a rural road outside of Glen Rose.  There there distance hills covered in blue bonnets.
