I painted this on Saturday on a rural road outside of Glen Rose.  There there distance hills covered in blue bonnets. It was difficult to find a place to park and difficult to narrow my focus.  I finally settled down and this was my result.  I was thrilled to be there and hope it shows.  This is available for purchase.  $300.00

I met artist, Jill Randall, Claudia Davis and Candy Clynch at Janice Weaver's house in Aledo. She lives out in the country and shared the neighborhood blue bonnets with us. I painted this today at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.  Thanks to all that stopped by.  It was a fun day in a beautiful gallery with a top selection of art.  She has 12 new larger paintings of mine, including this one.  I painted this with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint. The study I used for this was painted in the Whiskey Flat's area outside Ft. Worth. It was early morning and a cloudy day. This painting is available through Dutch Art Gallery

I painted this yesterday morning on a nice back road outside of Glen Rose, Texas.  I called one of my local friends to find out where the bluebonnets were and her husband directed us to this sweet spot.  It was a quite and peaceful setting. The only traffic we saw were a car and a few bicycles.

 I know the bluebonnets aren't blooming yet, but know they are coming. The weather has been beautiful recently and Spring is right around the corner. 

I am getting excited about participating in the Paint the Town Paint Out April 15 - 17th.  The area has a wealth of inspiration for the plein air painter.  The wildflowers should be in full bloom and beautiful.

This painting is the demonstration I did at the A.P. Gordon House on Saturday. I used a small field study as my source of  inspiration. This was during my solo show through Tarleton State University's Dora Lee Langdon Center. It runs until March 16, 2011. Exhibit open-Weekdays 9 a - 6 p and Saturday 10 a- 3 p. It's located in a beautiful old house in the quaint town of Granbury and is a great place for a show.  I had a good turnout and I appreciate everyone that stopped by.
