30% Chance of Rain by Sheri Jones

30% Chance of Rain
9x12 oil on Raymar canvas

I looked at the forecast this morning and it called for 30% chance of rain so I preceded on to find a good painting location. There was a lot of lightening out to , but I keep going. It turned into a 100% chance of rain before I ever set up.  I painted under the back door on my CRV and stayed dry. Starting before the sun comes up is a challenge, because you can't see colors. This is another good reason to place colors in the same location every time you lay paints out.  This was painted in Granbury, not too far from home.
This is available for purchase. $250.00

I am excited about my workshop on October 20th at Dutch Art Gallery. We will explore the use of the palette knife when developing a landscape painting.

Your desire to paint Plein Air certainly pays off in your lovely Texas landscapes. You certainly are persistence in painting early dawn, with lightning and rain. Love it! Painting Plein Air is addictive. A light rain in Texas is refreshing which you captured in this delightful painting.
