This dramatic sky light was calling me to paint it.  I loved the strong contrasting colors. I painted this on a cradled wooden panel.  It was fun working on a different service.  The palette knife is very forgiving on this hard service.

This is another fabulous sunrise I witnessed on my journey to Ft Worth.  I can always find inspiration when the sky lights up like this.  I used a palette knife to blend the colors together.  Building one layer over the other, it is filled with texture.

The sky was a wonderful mix of cool and warm colors.  I started with a thin layer of thalo red rose and built up the texture and color from there.  The view is along a walking path in Pecan Valley Park, Benbrook, Texas.  The sunrise views from here are a constant inspiration for me.

Rock Garden

I created this at the botanical gardens in  Ft. Worth. The color of the blooming flowers around the stream were an eye catcher. It was a great break and chance to get outside when the weather was cool enough.  I am working inside lately with the hot and humid Texas temperatures.

I created this during the Hidden Gardens Tour for the Ft. Worth Historic Society.

I always enjoy painting during the garden tours.  It started off with rain in the morning, but cleared up by noon when the tours began.  I set up quickly and painting in this inspiring garden. The home owner had "still lifes" everywhere.  I was easy to find something to paint.  It was an enjoyable day!
