Sunset at Mountain Lakes by Sheri Jones

Sunset at Mountain Lakes by Sheri Jones

16x20 oil on canvas

This was a painting I created as a demonstration for the Ellis County Art Association in Waxahachie. This was the same day as a hugh chemical fire. There were warnings they were evacutating the area and closing the freeway into town.  I'm glad I ignored all the warnings and went down anyway. Most of the drama was generated by the news media and as it turned out the air was safe and the freeways were open. We had a pretty good group despite all the drama of the day. This painting is available for purchase. $250.00

January Sunset by Sheri Jones

January Sunset by Sheri Jones

16x20 oil on canvas

This painting was inspired from a field study I did last January. It was an unseasonably warm day and we jumped at the chance to get outside and paint. Repainting this reminded me of great time I had with my painting buddy, Jill Randall. This was created in the comfort of my warm studio this January. It was painted with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint.

This painting is available for purchase through CFAI.
