I was drawn to this row of  crape myrtle trees and spent time observing their colors and shapes.  I love when nature can push the color as much as I like to. The colorful trees are a main stay and can withstand the Texas heat. Making these colorful gems one of my favorite in the local landscape.

This was inspired from a painting trip to Chandor Gardens in Weatherford.   I painted the waterfalls and brought that painting back to the studio to use as a reference for this painting.  It was a calming spot in the garden with the sound of the falls splashing.

The Brazos Motel was a greeting when you drove into Granbury from Hwy 377.  It not longer is there, replaced by a high rise apartment building.  The 52 Chevy truck is my husbands and looked like a natural in front of the old hotel.
