This is a studio painting completed from a field study painted last spring. I am looking forward to this year's bluebonnet crop. They say it is going to be a banner year with all the rain we have had. 
This was painted plein air at the river at Pecan Plantation in Granbury, Texas. Most of the trees were just beginning to bud out and showed the promise of spring. The weather was very agreeable for being outside.
This was painted on a bluff over looking the river at Pecan Plantation in Granbury, Texas. 
I painted this at the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens last summer. The sun was casting a warm glow on the garden gates and beautiful roses. I am getting excited with Spring approaching and know I will return here soon. 
A small field study inspired this painting. The location was a treasured find. Last year the bluebonnets were few and far between and we could not believe our fortune. There were blankets of wildflowers. This was painted in the studio with lots of paint applied with a pallet knife. This painting is available for purchase $350.00
This painting was inspired from a painting trip to the Wildflower Seed Farm. I created this from a smaller version. The flowers were beautiful, but I really enjoyed painting the abstract design of the water lily pads and water.
