This is part of my Christmas card series. The change in mediums and surface has been a refreshing change from my norm.

I painted this in Marble Falls during the Paint the Town show and sale. I registered early Friday morning and started cruising down the first country road I could find. The wildflowers were not hard to find. They are sprouting up everywhere. This was the first painting I did not far from the Perdernales River. The atmosphere was heavy and full of clouds.
I am packing by gear and heading out tomorrow searching for something to paint in Marble Falls. I am looking forward to participating in this event and painting outside. I hope the weather cooperates.
This was the second sunrise painting for the morning at Rough Creek Lodge on Saturday. The coffee was working it's magic. You learn to paint fast when practicing plein air painting. Such fun!
I had the pleasure of visiting Rough Creek Lodge today. I was inspired by this almost hidden bluebonnet patch. There are miles and miles of bluebonnets and wildflowers all along Hwy 67 thru Glenrose, but when you get on the back roads they are sparse. Painting outside and on location is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.
I painted this in the studio after a trip to the Fredricksburg area. The wildflowers were at their peak. I plan to visit the area soon and hope they are as beautiful as they were at that day. I am participating in the Paint the Town in Marble Falls, Texas April 16 - 18thI painted this from the Dutch irises out of my garden. The previous home owner planted these and they seem to multiple and produce more every year. A nice spring time treat.

I painted this at the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens recently. The Saucer Magnolia is a bloom on a tree and one of the first trees to burst with Spring. How exciting!
