Bluff Dale Winery by Sheri Jones
9 x 12 oil on canvas panel
I painted this at the winery this morning. It's was a great way to spend my Saturday morning. The Hayes are doing a beautiful job with their vineyards and I hear the wine is pretty good too.
They were kind enough to let us in to paint their lovely property.

Brazos River by Sheri Jones

Brazos River by Sheri Jones
36 x 24 oil on canvas
This was painted from a field study posted earlier in the year. It was a nice reminder of my time outside painting up on that bluff. It is hanging at the Park Plaza Building with Artwork DFW. All my paintings in this show are from field studies and of the Texas landscape. 2501 Parkview Drive, Ft Worth, Tx. There is an open house scheduled for June 10th 4 - 6 pm. The space was expanded making room for even more art.

Paluxy Meadow View by Sheri Jones

Paluxy Meadow View by Sheri Jones
9 x 12 oil on canvas panel
This was painted out on location in the small town of Paluxy, Texas. The town consist of a Post Office, Church, outdoor pavillion and a few houses. It is up high on a hill and has a lovely meadow within view. I quickly set up and layed out my design, starting with large shapes. Painting with a palette knife helps me get the paint on quicker and thicker.

Angie's Garden by Sheri Jones
12 x 9 oil on canvas panel
I painted this today in downtown Granbury. This house is not far from the town square and has an amazing garden. Angie used to own a nursery and loves gardening. We found a nice spot under a shade tree and enjoyed the scenery.

8 x 10 oil on canvasI painted this on Friday afternoon during the Paint the Town event in Marble Falls. There were clouds covering the skys throughout the weekend, but the sun did make it's appearance while painting this. April Morning by Sheri Jones

April Morning by Sheri Jones
11 x 14 oil on canvasI had the pleasure of visiting Rough Creek Lodge today. I was inspired by this almost hidden bluebonnet patch. There are miles and miles of bluebonnets and wildflowers all along Hwy 67 thru Glenrose, but when you get on the back roads they are sparse. Painting outside and on location is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.

Bluebonnets and Wild Grasses by Sheri Jones

9 x 12 oil on canvas This was painted today from the banks of the Brazos River in Granbury. I really ramped up the color with this one and I love it. The winds were very gusty and knocked over my Easy L pallet, brushes, painting and all went splat. This painting comes with more sand texture that originally intended.

Wild Delpheniums by Sheri Jones

11 x 14 oil on canvasThis painting was inspired from photos I took while visiting the Jackson Hole area last year. It was summer time and the wildflowers were in full bloom. I was impressed with the grandeur of the Grand Tetons and surrounding area. The flowers were an added treat for the eyes. This is painted with a pallet knife and lots of paint.
