Spring Gift by Sheri Jones

Spring Gift
6x6 on Raymar canvas panel

It was a real delight to see and smell the new blooms of blue bonnets.  They have a fragrant scent that can't be beat.  I painted this on Sunday afternoon. It was a perfect spring day with warm temperatures and low winds. This is available for purchase. $150.00

Blue by Design by Sheri Jones

Blue by Design by Sheri Jones
6x8 oil on Raymar canvas panel
This was painted on location on Country Road 1004, just outside of Glen Rose, Texas. We were in search of bluebonnets on some of the back roads and our friend steered us to this spot.  There are so many country roads to explore in this area. This one had great views all around us and a place I would love to return to soon. This was painted with a palette knife. It is available for purchase. $100.00

Back Road Creek by Sheri Jones

Backroad Creek by Sheri Jones
16 x 20 oil on canvas
This painting was inspired from a trip to Willow City Loop last spring. This is a rural area in the Texas Hill Country. We were taking roads less travelled and enjoyed discovering this backroad creek. This 22 mile loop will take you on one of the most beautiful areas in Texas. When blue bonnets are at their prime this is a must see. I created this with a palette knife.
This painting is available for purchase.

Paluxy Meadow View by Sheri Jones

Paluxy Meadow View by Sheri Jones
9 x 12 oil on canvas panel
This was painted out on location in the small town of Paluxy, Texas. The town consist of a Post Office, Church, outdoor pavillion and a few houses. It is up high on a hill and has a lovely meadow within view. I quickly set up and layed out my design, starting with large shapes. Painting with a palette knife helps me get the paint on quicker and thicker.

Bluebonnet Road by Sheri Jones

Bluebonnet Road by Sheri Jones
8 x 10 oil on canvasI painted this on Friday afternoon during the Paint the Town event in Marble Falls. There were clouds covering the skys throughout the weekend, but the sun did make it's appearance while painting this. The wildflowers are out in full force and worth the drive if you are looking for somewhere to go and some inspiration.

April Morning by Sheri Jones

April Morning by Sheri Jones
11 x 14 oil on canvasI had the pleasure of visiting Rough Creek Lodge today. I was inspired by this almost hidden bluebonnet patch. There are miles and miles of bluebonnets and wildflowers all along Hwy 67 thru Glenrose, but when you get on the back roads they are sparse. Painting outside and on location is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.
